Q&A With Gary – Evans’ Dedicated Scottish Agent

Monday, 23 February 2026

With over 40 years of experience in the soft furnishings and interiors industry, Gary brings a wealth of expertise, hands-on knowledge and an unwavering commitment to customer care. After relocating to Scotland, he launched his own business manufacturing bespoke curtains and soft furnishings for both high-end domestic clients and the contract sector.

This background gives Gary a unique perspective - he understands the challenges workrooms and designers face because he's been there himself.

Having worked closely with Evans for many years, Gary knows our product range inside-out and is excited to be the dedicated agent for Scotland, offering local support, tailored solutions and expert guidance for customers across the region.

Q&A

Q: Gary, what inspired you to join the Evans team as the Scottish Agent

A: I've worked with Evans for many years and have always valued their commitment to quality and customer service. I used their products in my own workroom, so I know first-hand how reliable and well-designed they are. When the opportunity came up to represent Evans in Scotland, it felt like the perfect fit.

Q: With more than four decades in the industry, what key insights do you bring to Scottish customers?

A: Having run my own soft furnishings business, I understand the real challenges workrooms face - tight deadlines, tricky installations, demanding projects and the need for reliable products. Because I've been on the other side, I can offer practical advice that genuinely supports customers day-to-day.

Q: What can visitors to the Scottish Interiors Show expect when they meet you at the Evans stand?

A: They'll get warm, expert advice and hands-on product guidance. Whether you're interested in curtain tracks, poles, linings or motorisation, I'm happy to talk through the options and help you choose the right solutions for your projects. I'm also there to answer detailed technical questions - no matter how big or small.

Q: What do you think sets Evans apart for workrooms and designers in Scotland?

A: The combination of product quality, consistency and support. Evans offers everything interior designers need under one roof - tracks, linings, workroom essential accessories, roman blinds, our venetian blinds and more. You don't just get products, you get genuine expertise, solid stock availability and local support from someone who understands the Scottish market.

Q: What are you most excited to showcase at the Scottish Interiors Show?

A: I'm really looking forward to showcasing our Evaglide track systems, our motorisation options and the latest innovations in workroom hardware. But I'm especially excited for visitors to see our new Sunwood and Alumitex Venetian blinds. They've already had a very warm response from customers and we can't wait for more people to experience the quality, versatility and colour options they offer. I'm also passionate about highlighting how Evans supports small and independent workrooms - something that remains at the heart of what we do.

How do you support Evans customers across Scotland day-to-day?

A: I'm on hand for product advice, project queries, technical support and general guidance. I'm also available for visits, so I can meet customers face-to-face, look at upcoming projects and recommend the best solutions. My goal is to make life easier for workrooms and designers, whatever challenges come their way.

What would you say to someone who hasn't worked with Evans before?

A: Give us a try - you'll be met with excellent products, dependable service and genuine support. Evans truly values every customer, no matter the size of their business and I'm here locally to help you get the most out of our range.
