Caring For Our Planet
We are proud to announce we were one of the first suppliers within the UK to change our curtain lining material composition from virgin polyester to recycled polyester to innovate a more environmentally friendly product. Within our range, we’ve also spearheaded fabric using responsibly sourced cotton sources to offer a ‘greener’ alternative to what’s currently in the industry.
Evans Textiles also has packaging which is widely recyclable and reusable, from card boxes, tubes to triangular packaging with zero plastic waste. All cardboard is FSC. Where plastic packaging has been unavoidable, the business made a conscious decision to move away from PVC non-recyclable single-use plastic to LDPE4 plastic packaging which is accepted in a number of UK recycling schemes. All of our plastic packaging now contains a minimum of 30% recycled content ensuring less environmental impact - and that's not all, we are currently working towards reducing our use of plastic packaging across all our range of products.
The Right Materials
Our Mindful Planet commitment means we’re working towards more ethical and environmentally standards in material composition; where sources of our products can be traced to ensure the legitimacy of it's production ensuring our ethical standards are met. No use of any animal products is used in any stage of our production of our products nor are any harmful chemicals which greatly reduces risk to the environment. The dyes which we use are also certified to be harmless and eco-friendly.
Selected products within our range have already been on this sustainable journey including sewing threads, blackouts, curtain linings and we’re actively developing more into our range and challenging our supply chains.
Ethically Sourced
We work closely with our global network of trusted suppliers with the aim that the materials used in the manufacturing processes are traceable, and socially and ethically sourced. Our suppliers have factories in the UK, Pakistan, China and India. We regularly review our suppliers’ policies and practices and expect them to adhere to our high standards. All our partnered factories are visited and audited by a representative of the company prior to any business relationship.
We endeavour to ensure our products are fairly made with a priority on fair and ethical working practices. We assess our suppliers’ goods and we will only work with suppliers when they can demonstrate best practices, quality goods and work towards protecting the environment, conservation, human rights and renewable resourcing.
All suppliers are issued with and are expected to comply with Evans Textiles’ Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy and Ethical Trading Policy. As we actively review our supply chains, we have a zero-tolerance policy on child labour, modern slavery or animal testing.
Evans Textiles is committed to ensuring our suppliers adhere to the high standards of ethics and we outline our Ethical Practice Policy. Suppliers must demonstrate that they provide safe working conditions and that they are committed to working to the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code and to ongoing improvements to employee working conditions.
Evans Textiles has a dedicated Procurement & Quality Audit and Product Technologist department that checks the quality and standards of products before they reach our customers – ensuring only the best products are offered to consumers. We only work with skilled textile suppliers, textile designers and specialists and try to promote quality methods of production. Any violations of the Evans Textile’s Ethical Trading Policy will lead to the termination of the business relationship.
