It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since the law required blind systems with a cord to meet the British Standards of BS EN 13120. Fortunately, for us at Evans Textiles we took the safety of our blinds seriously even before the legislation came into effect, - meaning we were well positioned to support our customers with our child-safe exclusive breakaway technology.

Evans Textiles were the first national supplier to have a fully certified Roman Blind system independently tested and verified by Bureau Veritas on the 14th February 2014. 10 years later and we still continue to stand at the forefront of childsafe roman blind technology. Over the years we’ve taken great pride in continuing to independently test our systems, ensuring complete peace of mind through the most thorough testing possible for maximum safety to our clients and their customers.
OUR EXCLUSIVE BREAKAWAY TECHNOLOGY
In 2014, our breakaway technology was revolutionary and our system continues to be a leading innovation within the market. The Evaglide range of roman blinds are safe by design - fitted with a robust and ingenious breakaway cog mechanism that causes the cog and chain to break away from the headrail when too much pressure has been applied (6kg). Ultimately, preventing death and serious injury from accidents lies at the heart of our Evaglide roman blind.
